FAQ
-
Can I just sign up for one session?
Yes! Absolutely! You can sign up for individual weekends, the three summer weekends (June-August), or the whole season (June-October)!
Some weekends we will be pressing tinctures made previous sessions, so to get more goodies, you should join us for more sessions ;)
-
Does your program cost include accommodations?
Unfortunately, no. However, we plan to start a WhatsApp group chat with all participants who wish to join, where you can self-organizing accommodations together. Reach out to us for local recommendations for camp sites and other housing.
-
Are you flexible with payment plans?
Yes! If the options you see listed on our sign up do not meet your needs, just reach out to us! We want to work with you regardless of the financial situation.
-
What are the payment options?
Our ideal payment methods are cash and check, because they require the fewest fees.
We can also accommodate Venmo, however.
-
Where will we be foraging?
Our home base is in Rosendale, NY, and we will email all participants the address prior to each session.
However, we will also be foraging at a few partner locations in the area. All of these are within about 30 minutes from our home base, and we will often carpool together to these offsite locations.
-
What happens when it rains?
We will forage and medicine-make, rain or shine! Be sure to check the weather before the weekend, and come prepared with rain gear, boots, and a change of clothes.
We have spaces to craft under a covering or inside, so we will do our best to stay dry. However, inevitably we will get wet in this process. So please, come ready :)

Why would I want to harvest and make my own medicine?
This question can bring up different things for everyone, but it is such an important question to ponder. For one, by crafting your own medicine, you know exactly what is in it and how it is made. There is no guessing if it is organic or if there are chemical additives. Also, it allows you to have a relationship with your medicine, infusing your own energy into its being.
Foraging and medicine-making are also a way to be in relationship with the land, and demand a level of attention and mindfulness. To do this practice, you have to be willing to really be with nature, and this creates space to build deep relationship with this animate world and care for her!
Making your own medicine and foraging builds your botany skills, invokes your creativity, and saves you money on herbal preparations.
There is so much more we could say! Overall, it is empowering and nurturing :)
-
Will we need to bring anything?
Mostly, you just need to bring you! However, I would advise that you make sure you have appropriate clothing for being outdoors in nature - including good tick protection and rain gear. Wearing boots and tube socks that you can tuck into long pants is a safe bet, along with bringing natural bug spray to reapply. You will also likely want a sun hat, sunglasses, a sweater, and possibly even a bathing suit!
Also, you may want to bring a notebook, any botany or plant ID books you may have, and a loop.
We will be in touch by email about all of this before each session as well.
-
Are all materials included?
Yes! we will provide all glasswear, alcohol, oils, etc.
